First virtual trade fair for BASF. With wob to the online trade fair presence.

Fakuma, a leading trade fair for plastics processing, was cancelled due to the pandemic - like so many other trade fairs worldwide. With our support, BASF Performance Materials transferred its planned trade fair appearance into virtual space and we created its own in-house trade fair: BASF@Fakuma 2020 - a premiere for the global corporation.

Together with the team at BASF, we succeeded in creating a five-day virtual trade fair in a very short time - concept, design, planning and technical realization by wob.

The virtual trade fair appearance was very well received and once again sent a signal that the "new normality" in the digital space does not mean a standstill.

The virtual fair had a lot to offer:

  • Exciting livestreams with a total of 17 lectures and live chats with the speakers.
  • 22 exhibition topics with individual and media-appropriate design, interactive content and personal live chats with the experts.
  • An interactive coffee lounge where visitors could comfortably exchange ideas in video chats.
  • A virtual press area - because there were of course interesting things to report.
  • A media center where all presentations could be viewed on demand.

The virtual trade fair was very well received not only by the visitors, but also by the international BASF colleagues worldwide who want to organize their own trade fairs on the developed environment.

"When we were faced with the decision to transform one of our most important trade fairs into a virtual one, the concept and expertise of wob convinced us directly. In our opinion, events like this came to stay and with partners like wob we can look forward to this development with anticipation," says Richard Amberger, Head of Communications Performance Materials Europe.

"I would like to thank BASF for its confidence in our expertise and am pleased with the great result and look forward to working together on further digital events," said Matthias Specht, member of the Board of Executive Directors wob
